NEW ANNAN, PEI – Unionized workers at Cavendish Farms will vote on the company’s latest contract offer on April 14.

Craig Walsh, a national representative for the United Food and Commercial Workers said contract negotiations for Union Local 864 concluded March 31. He said the offer will be discussed with members during meetings next Tuesday and Wednesday, and the approximately 550 unionized workers will then vote on the offer on April 14.

“There were changes (in the latest offer), we’ll say that, but we try to keep it all pretty close to the desk until the meetings are held for the members to find out first,” Walsh said.
